DIALOGUE. - Mr. Johnson, I’ve heard there will be the next meeting of the Students Scientific Society

- Good morning, Mr. Johnson.

- Good morning, Jack.

- Mr. Johnson, I’ve heard there will be the next meeting of the Students Scientific Society. Could you give me a detailed account of it?

- Sure, Jack. We are planning to hold the next Scientific Society meeting sometime during the last week of this month. Can you prepare a report and make a colourful presentation for the meeting?

- Certainly, sir. I’ll gladly do what you ask. What are the topics to discuss?

- The main point of our meeting is Water and everything connected with it. So, each member of the Students Society should be ready to discuss the following items: Water and its role in the life on Earth; Forms and properties of water; Water pollution.

- Oh, I see. By the way, some of my group-mates appealed to me for more information about the meeting. They are interested whether they can prepare a report about outstanding people in that field.

- Of course, they can. We’ll back them in their doings.

- Oh, I see. The meeting seems to be interesting!

- I hope so. And, please, don’t shelve your report. You may consult me whenever you want to.

- Thank you, sir. If you don’t mind, may I know the date of the meeting?

- Most probably it will be the 25th.

- The 25th? I’m sorry to say this, sir, but would it be possible to postpone it by a day or so. There is an important Pharmaceutical conference at our Academy on the 25th.

- I see. Let me consult the Councilor of the Students Society. I’ll tell you in a day or two.

- Thank you, sir.
