I 3 Инфинитив в косвенной речи

Когда мы хотим передать в косвенной речи приказ, просьбу или совет, то это можно сделать с помощью сложного дополнения, выбрав соответствующий глагол речи.

He ordered me to fetch the books. He advised me to buy it.

Если просьба, приказ или совет являются отрицательными, то перед инфинитивом употребляется ‘not’: She asked the staff not to discuss it publicly.

Чтобы задать вопрос в косвенной речи, после вопросительного слова достаточно употребить инфинитив:

I don’t know how to get to the station. Can you show me what to do?
