Some rules of carriage

Exercise 4.1 Read and translate the text.

Dangerous goods and articles can be carried only subject to special conditions. For safety reasons, articles or materials which are dangerous or are subject to special transport conditions may be carried only under carrier approval. These regulations apply principally to compressed gases, flammable, corrosive materials, explosives, munitions, weapons, easily flammable materials, oxidizing materials, magnetized materials, radioactive materials and other restricted articles such as mercury, poisons and other materials as listed in the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations. Sporting and hunting weapons can only be accepted as registered baggage. Weapons must be unloaded, with safety catch on and suitably packed.

Both our airline and travel agencies will be pleased to give detailed information concerning the passport, visa, health and/for other regulations.

If you have nothing more than the duty-free allowances and no prohibited or restricted goods go straight through the GREEN CHANNEL, unless asked to stop by an officer.

If you have more than the duty-free allowance listed or if you have prohibited or restricted goods go into the RED CHANNEL and declare them to an officer.

A load or baggage containing seeds, bulbs, cuttings, vegetables and fruit are subject to the Plant Quarantine Inspection. A passenger must have a special license to carry plant materials. This document should be produced by the state inspector of the Plant Quarantine Point.

Transportation of animals, birds, live stock, insects and products of animal origin is under the inspection of the Veterinary Control. A passenger should have a medical certificate for his animal (a dog, a cat) to carry it in the passenger cabin.

Any article that has not been declared is liable to forfeiture and the person concerned liable to prosecution.
