Условные предложения I и 0 типа

Условные предложения I типа образуются с помощью союзов if или unless + Present Simple в придаточном предложении и Future Simple в главном предложении.

Условные предложения I типа выражают возможное условие и его вероятный результат в будущем.

Условные предложения I типа могут начинаться как с придаточного предложения, так и с главного:

· Утверждение:

If I find your wallet, I ’ll let you know.

We ’ll come and see you on Sunday if the weather ’s good.

If может быть заменен на in case (= because of the possibility):

I ’ll take my umbrella in case it rains.

· Отрицание:

You won’t pass the exams if you don’t revise.

If you lose your ticket, you won’t be able to go.

Отрицание может быть выражено с помощью союза unless (= if…not):

Unless I hear from you, I ’ll arrive at 8 o’clock.

· Вопрос:

What will you do if you don’t find a job?

If there isn’t a hotel, where will you stay?

Сказуемое главного предложения может быть образовано с помощью модальных глаголов (can, may, might) + infinitive, а также выражать просьбу, совет и т.д.:

If it doesn’t rain we may go to the seaside.

We can drive to the seaside if the weather is nice.

If you have a chance to learn something new, don't miss it. (повелительное наклонение.)

If the phone rings can you answer it? (просьба)

Условные предложения 0 типа относятся к ситуациям, которые всегда истинны.

Условные предложения 0 типа образуются: if или when + Present Tense в придаточном предложении и Present Tense в главном предложении.

If you don’t water flowers they die. (Это всегда случается.)

You get one point when you answer a question correctly. (Таковы правила.)
