15. Ask your partner the following questions to evaluate a website on the points:

· Design

· Navigation

· Ease of use

· Accuracy

· Up to date

· Helpful graphics

· Compatibility

1. Are the pages simple and easy to digest or is there too much information and too many links? Has the designer considered: Who is the site for? What information do they need? How do they want the information presented?

2. Is it easy to move round the site? Can you see the route you've taken from the home page to your current location? Can you get back to the home page with a single click?

3. Is the site easy to use?

4. Is the information contained accurate and reliable?

5. Is the site kept up to date?

6. Are the graphics included simply to make the site look more attractive or do they serve a useful purpose?

7. Can most browsers access the site without difficulty?

16. With the help of the texts, give advice on these aspects of navigation design. Use a variety of ways. Add reasons for your advice where possible.

1 text links

2 graphical buttons

3 ALT text captions

4 site map

5 frames

6 position of navigation elements

7 logical links

8 search function

9 number of links on a page

17. Write an evaluation of a website of your choice and present it to the class. Then work in small groups to compare your reports. Your task is to work out what you think the seven top elements mean.
