Use them to and describe the pictures above. aloe bamboo duckweed lotus orchid oleander rafflesia arnoldii Venus flytrap air-rooted plants aquatic carnivorous coniferous cosmopolitan fastest-growing plant deciduous endemic evergreen poisonous medicinal succulent e.g. Rafflesia arnoldii is a member of the genus Rafflesia. It is the largest individual plant and has odor of decaying flash. The latter point earned it the nickname of "corpse flower". It is an endemic plant that occurs in the rainforests of Indonesia and Malaysia. It lives as a parasite on the vine and lacks any observable leaves, stems or roots. 1.3. a) Answer the questions. What kinds of forest do you know? Where are they located? b) See a clip from a program “Ocean Adventures” with J.-M. Cousteau and find out if these statements about kelp forests are true of false. Correct the false statements. 1) There are several different kelp forests. 2) The Monterey Bay kelp forest teems with life. 3) Sometimes kelp forests can recover. 4) Kelp plant has a holdfast, a stipe, a flower and blades. 5) Kelp can grow over half a meter a day. 6) Mammals, fish and invertebrates live independently in a kelp forest. 7) Sea otters wrap themselves up with kelp. 8) Sea urchins must consume kelp to save the sea. 9) Kelp forest can never be endangered. 1.4.
