I. Образуйте сравнительную и превосходную степень от следующих прилагательных и наречий. Переведите их на русский язык.

а) large, tall, easy, big, good, little, much, far, hot, bad.

b) wonderful, necessary, popular, quickly, slowly, interesting, famous, active, clearly, beautiful.

II. Поставьте прилагательные или наречия в скобках в нужную форму. Переведите на русский язык.

1. Winter is (cold) season of the year. 2. Your English is (good) now. 3. Who knows your friend (well) than you? 4. Today the students worked (slowly) than usually. 5. This work is (important) than that work. 6. The English language is (difficult) than the Russian language. 7. This is (interesting) book I have ever read.

III. Заполните пропуски словами “as…as”, “not so (as)…as” и переведите предложения на русский язык.

1. His daughter is … young … mine. 2. This building is … high … our Institute. 3. “Is lesson sixteen … simple … lesson fifteen?” – “No, Lesson Fifteen is … simple … lesson sixteen, it is more difficult”. 4. This year you don’t work at your English … much … you did last year, do you? 5. I do … well … I did last year.

IV. Поставьте следующие предложения в вопросительную и отрицательную формы.

а) 1. It is always cold in January. 2. It was simple for him to translate that business letter. 3. It will be easy to find the way to the railway station.

b) 1. It often rains in autumn. 2. It rained all day yesterday. 3. It is raining now.

V. Замените выделенные слова соответствующими словами – заместителями, где это возможно. Переведите их на русский язык.

1. This English book is too easy for me. Please give me a more difficult book. 2. “Take my pen”. – “Thank you, I have got a pen”. 3. Nick has no dictionary. He must buy a dictionary. 4. “Why didn’t you speak to him?” – “But I spoke to him”. 5. - Did your friend learn English at school? - I think he learned it, but I am not quite sure.
