Traffic violations

Unfortunately, many people get traffic violations every day. Depending on the type of traffic violations, there are moving violations and non-moving traffic violations.The punishment can be serious, including loss of a driving license, hefty fines and even imprisonment time.

Moving Violations

According to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in Florida, a traffic violation is a moving violation, if the vehicle must be in motion when the offense is committed. The most common moving traffic violations include:

- speeding (or driving under the speed limit and in a dangerous manner);

- running a stop light or stop sign;

- driving under the influence of intoxicants, such as alcohol or drugs;

- texting while driving;

- using a cell phone while driving.

This type of traffic violations usually has a fine as a punishment but sometimes removing from driving.

Non-Moving Violations

Non-moving traffic violations are those that can happen when a vehicle is technically not in motion. Examples of this type of traffic violation include:

- parking in illegal areas;

- driving without insurance;

- driving without a valid vehicle registration;

- leaving your vehicle running while it is without supervision;

- not having license plates or having license plates that are not valid.

Drivers actually often violate the traffic rules, the traffic officer can take them to the police department if they refuse to sign the ticket. This type of violations cannot provide traffic fatalities. But there is a fatal car accident every 14 minutes in the US, or about 40,000 per year.
