§ 1. The Progressive [19] Passive Tenses (Тривалі часи пасивного стану)

Загальна формула присудка (predicate) у тривалому часі пасивного стану має такий вигляд:

be (not) + being + the Past Participle

де

be being – допоміжні дієслова (auxiliary verbs);

the Past Participle – дієприкметник минулого часу.

Представимо наведену вище загальну формулу присудка у конкретному часі:

А. Теперішній тривалий час пасивного стану (the present progressive passive tense)

am, is, are (not) + being + the Past Participle

В. Минулий тривалий час пасивного стану (the past progressive passive tense)

was, were (not) + being + the Past Participle

С. Форма майбутнього тривалого часу пасивного стану (the future progressive passive tense), як правило, не вживається у сучасній англійській писемній і розмовній мові. Замість неї використивується форма майбутнього простого часу (will be + the past participle), або структура “be going to + the simple passive infinitive (простий пасивний інфінітив)”, яка буде розглянута нижче.
