В данной функции герундий употребляется без предлога и притяжательного местоимения после следующих глаголов и прилагательных:

1. Go on telling your story. 2. You should stop swimming in the river because the weather has got cold and windy. 3. I postponed reading that unpleasant letter till the very last moment. 4. They have just finished writing their composition. 5. And now I must start packing. 6. I gave up going to bed late. 7. He started working at this factory two years ago. 8. Have you finished working in the garden? 9. When I entered the room the children stopped playing. 10. As the children were listening attentively, I continued telling the story. 11. This newly discovered method is worth applying. 12. Preparations for expedition are worth speeding up.
