5. Subject clauses

In subject clause after a principal clause of the type It is necessary, It is important etc. the Present Suppositional or Subjunctive I is used.

e.g. It is (was) important that he (Було) необхідно, щоб він

(should) come. прийшов.

necessary / important / requested / advisable / recommended / imperative / desirable / urgent / of vital importance / natural / strange / impossible …

6.Attributive clauses

The Subjunctive Mood is also used in attributive clauses modifying the noun “time” in the principal clause It is time…, It is high time…. In this case the Present Subjunctive II is used.

e.g. It is time you stopped doing that. Час би йому припинити це робити.

It is time he were here. Час би вже йому бути тут.
