Русским деепричастиям сказав, подумав соответствуют английские Participles I.

Models:

He left the room saying (that) he was in a hurry.	Он вышел из комнаты, сказав, что торопится.
Thinking that he was busy, I decided to call on him later.	Подумав, что он занят, я решил зайти к нему позже.

Отрицательная форма причастия образуется путем постановки отрицательной частицы not перед причастием.

Models:

Not asking her permission he took the book.	Не спрашивая разрешения у нее, он взял книгу.
Not having learnt any Japanese, he couldn’t understand the message.	Не выучив японского, он не смог понять сообщение.

Models:

Exercise 1. Translate into Russian.

Примечание 1. Значение предшествования, выражаемое русским причастием прошедшего времени (например, конференция, проходившая в Париже), в английском языке передается придаточным определительным предложением.

Compare the following sentences:
