My Family. My family is not very large. It consists of my Father, my Mother, my sister, my Grandmother and me

My name is Victor, Vitya for short. My middle name is Ivanovich. My surname is Orestov. I am 17 (years old). I live in Moscow, in Gorky Street.

My family is not very large. It consists of my Father, my Mother, my sister, my Grandmother and me. We all live together in a new flat in one of the central districts of Moscow. We occupy four rooms in the flat on the fourth floor.

My Father Ivan Petrovich is 43 years old. He works at an automobileplant as an engineer. He is a very busy man. He likes his work and spends a lot of time in his office. By character Father is a calm quiet man. He is very understanding but at the same time anxious about our studying, behaviour and future life. My sister Olya thinks that sometimes he is too strict and exacting.

My Mother Maria Vladimirovna is 40 years old. She is a teacher of history and she has a lot of work to do at school and about the house. She is a busy woman and we all try to help her. Mother is very energetic and talkative. She always takes our problems close to heart and does not like to be hard on me and my sister; so she often forgives us when we do something wrong. Father says that she is too lenient, but I do not think so.

Olya is two years younger than me. She is a pupil of the 10th form. Olya does well at school and gets good and excellent marks as a rule. Her favourite subject is English and she wants to become a translator. Olya is a wilful young girl and our parents say she is able and naughty at the same time. Every now and then Mother scolds my sister, and Father punishes her when she misbehaves.

As for me, I am a first-year student of the Moscow State University. I study at the Philological Department because I like Literature and hope to engage inresearch work after the University.

My Grandmother does not work, she is a pensioner. She is 70 now. Granny is a loving, caring and compassionate old lady, and she is always ready to help us all.

Our family is very friendly and united. We like to spend our free time together.

Besides, I have many other relatives: uncles, aunts and cousins.
