I’m talking to Tina Woodman, a social worker in Breadfield.

- Tina, could you tell us about the new projects you are going to start up?

- With pleasure. Very soon we are going to start up two very important projects. The first one is for elderly people living in the area. We received a £5000 cash grant from a social services department. So we are planning to organize a special scheme and invite pensioners from Breadfield area to take advantage of a new door-to-door minibus shopping service. Residents in the area will be picked up from their homes and transported into the city centre for shopping twice a day. The service starts on Tuesday, January 25, and will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Elderly people will be charged only 80p for the journey to and from the city centre. We are going to advertise the new service in the local newspaper. I am sure many elderly people will take up the service because it will make their shopping a lot easier.

- What about the second project?

- Oh, well. That is a joint project with the University of Breadfield. We are starting up this project to support University students. After wide consultation, the University is going to provide high-quality student accommodation on the village principle. A student village is going to be built in or near the University campus. Bars, shops and other necessary services will be provided – along with newly-built comfortable rooms for today’s students. The price will remain the same.
